Ocklawaha River Watershed

An aerial view looking south of the Apopka Beauclair Canal at the dam at CR-48 (at bottom). The new Nutrient Reduction Facility (NuRF) is seen under construction. The NuRF is a $7.3 million cooperative water quality improvement effort by the LCWA, SJRWMD and the FDEP. The project will use off-line alum injection to remove pollutants flowing out of Lake Apopka into the rest of the Harris Chain of Lakes.  07/03/2008.
