Sarasota County, New College & Sarasota Water Atlas to Debut Four New Oral History Interviews!
In a collaborative effort between Sarasota County, New College of Florida and the Sarasota Water Atlas, four new oral history projects were completed this past academic semester. These interviews will debut on Tuesday evening, January 19th, at the Selby Public Library (1331 1st Street Sarasota, FL 34236-5702). Interviews include stories about growing up on Longboat Key in the 1950s, the formation of the Sarasota Bay National Estuary Program, archaeological investigations at Little Salt Spring Ecological & Archaeological Preserve, and the designation of a portion of the Myakka River as Wild and Scenic.
Please join us for what should be a wonderful evening of celebrating our water heritage, mingling and chatting about our beautiful waterways, and meeting the interviewees.
