Lake County Searches for Suitable Park Space in South Lake

After County Commissioners turned down a deal to purchase a 143-acre parcel in South Lake County last week, County staffers began searching this week for alternatives.

The County Attorney's Office sent out a request to realtors this week that Lake County is looking to purchase property for an active recreation park in South Lake County. The size of the property should be at least 50 acres of usable land and no larger than 200 acres.

Other requirements include the property be upland, suitable for rezoning to public facilities district, good legal access and not divided by a bridge, highway or other obstruction.

Conditions of the property for sale includes a negotiable selling price, no real estate commission paid by Lake County, no closing costs paid by Lake County and any restrictions on property or title issues must be disclosed.
