Lake Soil and Water Conservation District Announces Annual Poster & Speech Contest

The deadline for the Lake Soil and Water Conservation District's poster contest, open to grades K-12, and the speech contest, open to grades 6-12, is Tuesday, Nov. 16, before 5 p.m.
Judging will take place on Nov. 30 at the Lake County Agricultural Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares. Winners will receive prizes and are eligible to compete at the area contest. For more information and to download contest flyers, visit the link below.
"The contests provide an excellent opportunity for students to enjoy healthy competition while learning about conservation," said Brad Russ, District Resource Coordinator.
The National Association of Conservation Districts determines the annual stewardship theme. This year's theme is "Forests for People: More than you can imagine!"
The speech contest theme is "What is the Economic Impact of Florida Forests?"
