Recent Rain Good for Ducks, Lawns But Not Enough for Lakes
The soggy weather that doused Lake County brought a much-needed drenching for lawns and gardens.
But it did little to alleviate a five-year long deficit in the amount of rainfall the county averages annually, according to the Lake County Water Authority.
"It made things better. It certainly didn't make them worse," said Ron Hart, the authority's water-resources program manager. "But we've got five years in a row that we've had below average [rainfall], and this year it looks like it will be below average again."
