Five Bills Introduced to Repeal Septic Tank Inspection Requirement
Rep. Chris Dorworth, chairman of the House Rulemaking & Regulation Subcommittee, is wading into the septic tanks issue with a bill introduced Monday that would repeal required statewide inspections while allowing counties to develop their own inspection programs -- within limits.
The inspection program was one of the hottest environmental issues during the 2011 session as the inspection requirement passed by the Legislature in 2010 prompted a backlash led by Tea Party activists.
