Wolf Branch Road to be closed during drainage improvement project work

MOUNT DORA — The Lake County Public Works Department is announcing that Wolf Branch Road between Heather Street and Britt Road/Niles Road will be closed from Monday, June 13 through Monday, Aug. 1.

The road closure is part of the Wolf Branch Sink Drainage Improvement Project, which is designed to capture and provide water quality treatment of stormwater runoff in the area. The project lies within the Wekiva Springs Protection Area and is estimated to provide pollutant load reductions. The contracted project is funded by the Stormwater Municipal Service Taxing Unit (MSTU) Fund and a Lake County Water Authority Stormwater Grant Program agreement.

“Work is currently underway and a majority of the construction will be completed with lane closures that may cause delays for drivers traveling along Wolf Branch Road,” said Jim Stivender, Lake County Public Works Director. “Due to the limited area for the contractor to perform certain construction activities, a road closure will be necessary. We ask that motorists in the area are patient while our contractor completes this important environmental work.”

Detour signs will be posted to alert the public to these changes, and drivers will be detoured to U.S. Highway 441, State Road 46, and Round Lake Road. Motorists are asked to allow for extra travel time, and to exercise caution while in the area due to the new traffic pattern.
