Wetlands hike July 9th: Bring the family!

Join the Lake County Water Authority for a hike on the wetlands boardwalk at Hickory Point Park. After the boardwalk portion, hikers will put on their "muddy" shoes and go dip netting in Little Lake Harris off the beach area. The group will catch interesting aquatic critters and identify them. There will be a tank on site so that everyone will get to see the critters up close. Afterwards, stay and brown bag lunch with a Ranger, and ask questions!

Location: Hickory Point Park on the shores of Little Lake Harris in Tavares (27341 State Road 19, Tavares FL 32778)
Time: 9 a.m. to noon

Please RSVP by calling the Lake County Water Authority at 352-324-6141 as space will be limited. Remember to bring your "muddy" shoes for the dip netting and a brown bag lunch if you want to lunch with the rangers afterwards to ask questions.
