Spring break at Trout Lake Nature Center
Can learning possibly be this much fun?
Trout Lake Nature Center in Eustis has announced its Outdoor Adventure Day Camp, the perfect solution to every parent’s dilemma: “How do I make spring break enjoyable, constructive and educational for my child?”
The nature center, which provides environmental learning experiences for Lake County school students and for home-schooled children throughout the region, has developed a spring-break program specifically designed for inquisitive children in grades three through five.
The curriculum focuses on Florida wildlife, habitats and ecology, combining indoor and outdoor instruction on fishing, archery, aquatic surveys, bird banding and more. Instructors include scientists from the University of Florida, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Lake County Water Authority, St. John’s River Water Management District and Trout Lake Nature Center.
The program will take place from March 13 through March 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
Registration is under way for the program, which is limited to 20 registrants. Fee for the weeklong program is $140 per child. Call 352.357.7536 or e-mail tlnc.director@gmail.com for more information or a registration packet.
