Online voting now open for Lake County’s Adopt-A-Lake photo calendar
TAVARES — Online voting is now open for the Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Program’s 2018 photo calendar. To help choose the winning pictures, visit www.lakecountyfl.gov/adoptlake.
A panel made up of Board of County Commissioners Chairman Tim Sullivan, county employees and volunteers independently rated nearly 200 entries, paring them down to a semi-finalist group of 33 photos. The top 14 photos, as chosen by online voters, will be featured in the calendar. The one receiving the most votes will be placed on calendar’s cover.
The online poll closes at midnight on Sunday, Nov. 19
Now in its ninth year of production, the Lake County Adopt-a-Lake calendar highlights a handful the county’s 1,400 named bodies of water.
The Adopt-a-Lake calendar will be available at the Water Resource Management Laboratory for a suggested donation of $5, with proceeds benefiting the Adopt-a-Lake Program.
The Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Program encourages local civic organizations, individuals and fraternal and business groups to adopt a segment of a lake’s shoreline. The program is comprised of three separate components: Water-quality monitoring, public education and pollution prevention. Volunteers can select which aspects of the program best fit their level of interest.
