Lake County, Florida – The Adopt-a-Lake Program invites residents to participate in the Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Program 2024 Calendar Contest. The calendar contest, now in its fifteenth year, requests photographs of Lake County lakes for its 2024 Adopt-a-Lake Calendar.

All submitted photos must meet the following requirements:

  • The photograph must feature a Lake County waterbody
  • Photographed in landscape orientation
  • Entries are limited to 5 photos per person
  • Your submission must include the name of the photographer and the body of water
  • The deadline for entries is Friday, October 20

The top 14 photographs submitted will be featured in the 2024 calendar. A panel of volunteers and staff will rate the photographs to select the semi-finalists. After the semi-finalists are selected, online voting will open to the public on the Adopt-a-Lake webpage. The top-scoring photograph will earn the opportunity to feature on the calendar’s cover.

To submit photographs, e-mail them to cathie.catasus@lakecountyfl.gov. All photos must include the identification of the water body and the name of the photographer. All semi-finalists will be required to fill out a photo release form.

The Adopt-a-Lake Calendars, which include pictures from water bodies in Lake County, will be available for a suggested donation of $6.00 from the Lake County Parks and Water Resources Department, Water Resource Management Laboratory.

The Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Program is comprised of three separate components: Water-quality monitoring, public education, and pollution prevention. Volunteers can elect which components of the program best fit their desired level of participation.
