Online voting now available for Lake County’s 2025 Adopt-A-Lake Program Calendar photo contest

The Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Program is conducting an online poll that allows the community to vote for the winning photographs to be included in the 2025 Adopt-a-Lake Program Calendar. To vote, visit https://c.lakecountyfl.gov/parks-and-trails/adopt-a-lake/photo_contest_vote.aspx. Online voting will end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1.

A panel made up of County employees and volunteers independently rated nearly 250 entries, paring them down to a semi-finalist list of 37 photographs. The top 14 photographs will be featured in the calendar and the photograph receiving the most votes will grace the calendar’s cover. Voting is limited to one vote per day.

Adopt-a-Lake calendars, which include beautiful pictures of water bodies in Lake County, will be available beginning Dec. 9 for a suggested donation of $6. The proceeds benefit the Adopt-a-Lake Program. Calendars will be available at several locations, to be announced at a later date.

Orders can also be mailed to: Adopt-a-Lake Program, P.O. Box 7800, Tavares, FL 32778. Checks should be made payable to Lake County BCC. If placing a mail order, include $1 additional for postage costs.

The Adopt–a–Lake Program is similar, in some respects, to the County's Adopt-a-Roadway Program. The program encourages local civic organizations, individuals and fraternal and business groups to adopt a segment of a lake's shoreline.

The Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Program is comprised of three separate components: Water-quality monitoring, public education and pollution prevention. Volunteers can elect which components of the program best fit their desired level of participation.
